The introduction and implementation of new technology sometimes fail because some aspects were overlooked. One of these is the assessment of the users in terms of how they will adopt the technology. Using the Unified Theory of Adoption and Use of Technology (UTAUT) for determining faculty readiness in adopting course management system, this paper proposes a strategy for the successful implementation of online courses at the Centro Escolar University (CEU).

Factors affecting the use of the course management system were identified through the use of the descriptive method. The data collected from selected faculty members were statistically treated and analyzed. The results indicated that age and gender do not affect the user intention to course management system. The factors that were found to affect user intention are performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions. The results suggest that the CEU administration needs to focus on both the perspectives of user performance and experience to facilitate the adoption of the course management system and to achieve a successful implementation of online course development.
