Most online developers and online learning ready applications are focused on the technology rather than the learning content, which is the most important part of learning. This paper describes the development of e-ARAL, a blended learning tool designed to address the issues encountered in online learning through features and functionalities that approximate face-to-face learning. Student awareness and faculty readiness were gauged to be an input in the development of the tool. e-ARAL blended learning component models were integrated and the Rapid Application Model was utilized as a guide in the software development process. The paper concludes with suggestions for studying the depth of learning achieved from using the tool. The paper also recommends a review of other issues of online learning to enhance the tool.
