Mobile Learning: Opportunities and Challenges at Universitas Terbuka

Universitas Terbuka (UT, the Open University of Indonesia) has 399,254 active students as of the second semester of 2011. Students come from 37 regional offices. Student services continue to be improved, most recently using cellular phones to provide information. A noteworthy aspect is the cooperation between the distance education institution and a cellular phone service provider. This paper will discuss the opportunities and challenges in using cell phones for mobile learning at Universitas Terbuka.
